July 2019 – Poturalski has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Ducks. Jokke Nevalainen
April 2019 – At the age of 25 Poturalski has become one of the AHL’s best players and most consistent playmakers. He led the Charlotte Checkers with 70 points, and has amassed nearly 200 points in his last three AHL seasons. He is likely a player who will be a superstar at the minor league level, but a depth option in terms of the NHL roster moving forward as Carolina’s prospect group continues to evolve. If he does get the opportunity for consistency at the pro level, it would need to be in the top-six for the forward to thrive from a fantasy perspective. Kevin LeBlanc
July 2017 – In his debut professional season, Poturalski was incredibly successful, finishing third among rookie AHLer’s with 52 points in 74 games. He led the Checkers in nearly every offensive statistical category, finishing first in points (52), assists (33), power play goals (6) and shots on goal (157). His strong play earned him a two-game NHL April call-up where he slotted in the Canes bottom-six forward group but failed to record a point while averaging around 12 minutes of ice time. He struggled a bit on the defensive end in his first NHL stint, a part of his game that will need to improve if he if going to get significant minutes with Carolina. Likely Poturalski will start the season in the AHL again as one of the Checkers offensive leaders, but may see time with the Canes throughout the season. Kevin LeBlanc
October 2016 – Poturalski will be begin his first professional season at the AHL level with the Charlotte Checkers. The young forward showcased his skillset both in the Traverse City prospects tournament and the preseason, and will likely slot in the Checkers top-six forward group this season. He’s a point producer who is good in tight spaces and typically makes the smart play with the puck in the offensive zone. Poturalski is a candidate for a breakout performance at the AHL level. March 2016 – Carolina made the first splash in the College Free Agent signing period, inking the undersized, yet talented Poturalski to a two-year contract. The former University of New Hampshire player had a great sophomore season in 2015-16, averaging well over a point per game in his 37 contests. Poturalski ranked fifth in goals (22), sixth in assists (30) and second in points (52) in college hockey this season. His 24 power play points led all NCAA players. With many other teams in the running for his services, GM Ron Francis wasted no time getting the undrafted free agent to sign on the dotted line. Poturalski will report to the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers for the remainder of the season, and will help them in their playoff push this spring. Kevin LeBlanc
March 2016 – Poturalski has a excellent shot, hard with a quick release which he can release with little to no recoil, making it difficult for goalies to track and anticipate. Has good playmaking vision and sees the ice well at both ends of the ice. While he is a smaller player, he manages to avoid getting hit as a result of a combination of sound hockey sens and good agility. Skating is an asset with god edges and mobility and speed at the college level, may need more speed at the pro level. After attending Sabres camp last summer he has decided to forego his final two years of college and sign with the HUrricanes. – Peter Harling
