September 2017 — Tambellini was assigned to Hartford as the Rangers cut their training camp roster down to thirty players. Entering his third pro season in 2017-18, and the final year of his entry level contract, Tambellini is still looking to make his NHL debut with the Blueshirts. His game will need to take a big step forward this AHL season in order to jump up within the Rangers organization depth. Geoff Kent
February 2017 – Tambellini has continued his strong play well into his second pro season with the Hartford Wolfpack. He sits third in team scoring with 25 points (8G, 17A) through 45 games after leading all Wolfpack rookies in 2015/16. Tambellini is seeing minutes in all situations, with 10 of his points coming on the power play, and also leads the team in shootout goals and attempts. It is only a matter of time before Tambellini gets the call to make his NHL debut. Geoff Kent
January 2016 – Through the first 41 games of Tambellini’s professional career, he has managed to pot 10 goals, and added five assists playing with the Rangers’ AHL affiliate, the Hartford Wolf Pack. It may take another year or so for the young forward to get fully adjusted to the pace of the professional game, but the door remains open if he can continue to improve. Bryan Puffer
March 2015 – Rangers GM Glen Sather announced March 10th that the team has signed Adam Tambellini to a three-year entry-level contract. Leading the Calgary Hitmen in scoring in his second WHL season, Tambellini has racked up an impressive 45 goals and 79 points in 63 games. Brendan Ross
January 2015 – Adam Tambellini was a project pick when the Rangers selected him in 2013 NHL Entry Draft. After the draft he went the College route but that didn’t work out for him. He left the NCAA for the WHL where he has since revamped his career. In his first WHL season, Tambellini scored 17 goals and 39 points in 31 games. This year, the Hitmen Alternate Captain regularly shows up on the scoresheet. He had an impressive five-game goal scoring streak in December. With 30 goals, Tambellini is third in WHL’s goal scoring race while his 23 helpers in 46 games has been an added bonus.Tambellini is a fluid skater with good hockey sense. He is a good leadership guy and has improved his defensive game tremendously. He is a highly skilled offensive center with a good build and frame to add more mass, which he will need to do. After Calgary’s season ends in the WHL, Tambellini could get a look in the AHL where he will likely play a couple of seasons before arriving in the Rangers lineup.Jozsef Kurtosi
January 2014 – After a disapointing NCAA campaign, Tambellini (brother of former NHLer Jeff) left UND and went to the Calgary Hitmen in the Western Hockey League. Once there, he found his mojo, putting up the numbers quickly. He has the size and skill, and he’s got an NHL shot and can score. He is a power forward type of player, works hard, creates space, but needs to get stronger. He’ll be given plenty of time to do that in the Rangers’ system. Josh Kurtosi
