September 2017 – McIntyre is looking sharp early in training camp. Coming off a disappointing season, McIntyre will square off against Khudobin and Subban for backup time in Boston. In eight appearances last year, he posted an abysmal .858 SV%, which will loom over him until he erases it. In his first pre-season performance, McIntyre was tracking the puck well, stopping 11 of 11 shots faced and shutting the door on a tightly contested match. He'll need a lot more of that before last year's performance is put behind him. Mike Drover

January 2017 – Don't look now, but Zane McIntyre is officially on fire. Zane had a ridiculous December, posting a .947 save percentage and a sub-1.50 GAA. McIntyre had been called up earlier in the year when the Bruins were experiencing a bevy of goaltending injuries, and got smoked by the red-hot Rangers. While he had a bad showing in the NHL, he went on to be fantastic for the Providence Bruins, earning himself AHL player-of-the-month honors last month. With Anton Khudobin getting placed on waivers, you have to figure McIntyre gets another look with the Bruins sooner rather than later. It will be interesting to see if the former Hobey Baker finalist can perform at the highest level as he has in every level thus far. Keep a keen eye on McIntyre because he's got the pedigree to stand out. Mike Drover

May 2015 – McIntyre is leaving UND after three superb seasons to turn pro with the Bruins. There was little left for McIntyre to accomplish in college, especially after this year when he finished 29-10-3 with a 2.05 GAA and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Trophy. With last year's backup Niklas Svedberg heading to the KHL, McIntyre has a chance to get some decent ice time in Providence. If all goes well he could be Boston's goalie of the future. Michael Boeckler

Fantasy Outlook: C

McIntyre is big and athletic and handles the puck well.  If he builds on his solid college career, he could make an impact at the NHL level.
