Observations:

August 2013 – Leafs have expectantly cut ties with Brenner and he is now a Free Agent that will look for jobs in the ECHL or minor pro in Europe. Jason Banks

March 2013 – The season has not been good to Brenner as he has continued to flounder in the ECHL after being reassigned to Toledo. The Marlies have by passed him on call ups when they were required for younger, former junior players, Jamie Devane, Andrew Crescenzi and Sam Carrick. Unfortunately, this is the last year of his contract and the Leafs will likely choose not to resign him and release his rights. Brian Burke and staff plucked him and several others from the NCAA system (undrafted), boasting big potentials in their futures, only Tyler Bozak and Ben Scrivens have panned out with marginal success and questionable futures. Jason Banks

December 2012 – Brenner was assigned to ECHL Bakersfield to start the season as the Marlies have an oversized roster. He has compiled 11 points in 16 games thus far, which is better than his 9 points in 20 games all last season at the ECHL level. Jason Banks

April 2012 – Brenner’s game is that of a prototypical power forward as he has the pro size and a high-end shot. He played only three years of college at RIT (Atlantic Hockey) and signed early forgoing his senior season. He is not overly physical for his size and skating will need to improve at the pro level in order to find his place. Brenner has spent equal time in the ECHL and AHL, which currently finds him on the Toronto Marlies roster.

Fantasy Outlook: E

Likely to disappear in minor pro for rest of his career. A positive start to pro, has not equated to long term success.
