We can never get enough prospects information. We’re starved for it. I know this because I see the excitement that a Fantasy Hockey Prospects Report generates. Fantasy owners read everything they can get their hands on about a prospect. The problem is, the regular scouting sites comment on skating ability. Hockey sense. Strength. Stickhandling. Zone coverage. It’s not always easy to translate that into the fantasy hockey realm and sometimes you don’t want to wait until June 1 when the Fantasy Prospects Report comes out.

 

I want this to be your fantasy hockey prospect “wiki”. Your database of fantasy hockey information when it comes to prospects. We’re going to steer clear of feature articles and stick with one formula – profiles. With a staff of 10 scouts/writers (read up on them here), and on the lookout for more, we will fill the site with observations on all prospects. And we’ll update these prospects throughout the year.

 

Now when you want to do your research, you know where to go. We provide the personal stats, links to career stats, a youtube clip, the latest observations, and a fantasy hockey rating. Where does he fit in the system? How long will he be developing? What is his upside?

 

Now, a lot of this can be found in the Fantasy Prospects Report, so of course there is a concern that I’m cannibalizing my own sales! But to compensate for that, I’ve added some great new features in the FPR – including fantasy drafting advice, a firm arrival date, and of course the 3YP can only be found in the FPR.

 

When we add a profile, it will go to the front page. When we update a profile it will also be moved to the front page. Unorthodox, but I want to try it and see how it goes. That’s our way of letting you know about the new content, for those who plan to check in daily. For those who don’t, not to worry. Those profiles will be here waiting for you when you need them.

 

Brendan Ross and myself, as well as another site manager to be named later, will periodically post thoughts and observations from the world of prospects and you can find those posts right here – where you would normally find “ramblings”.

 

So go ahead, explore the site, and make sure this is your go-to place for prospect information. Keep in mind that we’re still filling prospect profile information, which will be added daily – it will take a few weeks to get most of them complete before we can focus on updating.
