Observations:

October 2017 – Cammarata did not receive a qualifying offer from the Islanders and became a free agent playing in the ECHL. Cammarata should not be owned in even the deepest of leagues. Peter Harling

June 2016 – Taylor Cammarata had his worst campaign as a Golden Gopher in 2015-16, registering only seven goals and 19 points in 37 games played. He had put up 27 points in both his freshman and sophomore seasons. Cammarata was a standout for the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL prior to being drafted, but his offensive production has stalled in the NCAA. His senior year will go a long way in determining whether he gets a contract from the Islanders or not. Brent Craswell

Nov 2015 – Cammarata is playing his third year for the University of Minnesota in the NCAA and has only one point in the seven games played. His current history in the NCAA has not been progressing well, as he only has 13 goals in a total of 85 games paying more as a set-up man. His lack of scoring and point progression is concerning for the diminutive forwards future as a professional. Pat Quinn

Sept 2015 – Cammarata had a rather unimpressive year in the NCAA for the University of Minnesota as he managed to replicate the same amount of points from the prior year (27) in the game amount of games (39), but had a total of three goals. Standing 5-7, he needs to vastly improve to even have a shot at a now log jammed Islanders squad. Monitor closely because as of now he looks like a long shot to make it, but being only 20 he still has time to develop. Pat Quinn

May 2014 – Cammarata finished his freshman year with 27 point in 39 games for the Golden Gophers. A little less than what you want to see from a smallish player out of the gate but still nothing to sneeze at. He actually ranked seventh on the team in scoring which is decent for a freshman. If he can get his skating to elite level it will help keep the point total elevated, even if just slightly. Brad Wilson

January 2014 – Cammarata has slowed a bit after his torrid start to the season. He now sits at 15 points in 22 games. Lets not forget that he is just 18-years-old playing with 20 to 24-year-olds for the most part. I absolutely love this kid, watch for him to raise eyebrows over the next couple of seasons. Brad Wilson

November 2013 – Cammarata continues to plug right along as a Golden Gopher. He now has nine points in 10 games for U of M. The smallish fwd seems to be building a strong foundation for a destined NHL career. Brad Wilson

October 2013 – Cammarata is making some noise early in his Big-10 career. The U of Minnesota spark plug has burst out of the gate with two goals and five points in the first five games. This included a spectacular four point weekend in two big wins. The jump to college seems to have had minimal effect on Cammarata’s ability to produce offense. Brad Wilson

October 2013 – Cammarata was named the 2012/13 USHL junior player of the year. He will look to work on his defensive game and continue to be an offensive threat, while calling the University of Minnesota home. After dominating the USHL as a Waterloo Black Hawk, it will be interesting to see how the smallish center fares as a Minnesota Gopher in the Big-10. Brad Wilson

June 2013 – Leading the USHL in scoring with 38 goals and 93 points in 59 games for the Waterloo Blackhawks is diminutive forward Taylor Cammarata. He is an intelligent player with good agility, puck skills and creativity but lacks top end speed that you want to see in smaller players. Cammarata shows good grittiness and doesn’t shy away from contact. If Cammarata was three inches taller then he would likely be talked about as a potential first round selection but his lack of size likely sees him slide into the late second or third round of the June draft. Brendan Ross

Fantasy Outlook: D

Boom-bust offensive player with great offensive skills turns out to be a bust.
