October 2018- To no surprise, Hinostroza made the Coyotes opening night roster. He’s been quite so far but in fairness the whole Coyotes team hasn’t done much offensively. Hinostroza has averaged 16:14 average time on ice and looks like he’s earned the trust of coach Rick Tocchet. Keith Duggan

July 2018 – Hinostroza has been traded from the Chicago Blackhawks to the Arizona Coyotes in a multi-player swap. While small, he’s an excellent skater with good skills. Hinostroza tallied seven goals and 25 points in 50 games with Chicago last season. That’s on top of the 22 points in 23 games he put up in Rockford of the AHL before his recall to the big club. “Vinnie is a dynamic, right shot forward with high end skill,” said Coyotes General Manager John Chayka after the trade was announced. “We expect he will continue to grow his game with increased opportunity.”Hinostroza has a great chance to earn a top six role with the Coyotes, most likely as a right wing, for 2018-19. Possibly a dark horse fantasy candidate going into this coming season. Keith Duggan

February 2018 – Hinostroza continues his fine play since being recalled from Rockford, seeing time up and down the lineup. In the new NHL, where fast hockey is at a premium, Hinostroza will always have a spot.  Tony Carr

December 2017- Hinostroza has been recalled by the Blackhawks and saw immediate action. The Hawks are looking to add some speed and secondary scoring into their lineup and Hinostroza can bring both of those things. Tony Carr

October 2017- Hinostroza will start the season in Rockford but should be among the first called up when the need arises. He had a solid camp but lost out to the numbers game.  Tony Carr

January 2017- Hinostroza is enjoying a fine rookie season with the Blackhawks, seeing regular ice on the top line with Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa as well as considerable time on the powerplay. Coach Quenneville wants to play an up-tempo game and Hinostroza fits that mold as arguably the fastest player on the Blackhawks roster.~ Tony Carr

January 2016 – Hinostroza leads the Rockford IceHogs in scoring with 10 goals and 16 assists through 38 games of his first full professional campaign. After a slow start offensively, Hinostroza caught fire in January, talling seven goals in 12 games. He has made the transition from the NCAA ranks well, even getting in a four-game stint with the Blackhawks back in October. Look for Hinostroza to remain a key offensive piece for the IceHogs down the stretch run, and he could challenge for an NHL roster spot this fall. Matt Donohue

April 2015 – Hinostroza decided to forgo his last two years in college and signed an entry-level deal with the Blackhawks in March. In 76 games over two years at Notre Dame, he compiled 19 goals and 76 points. He joined the Rockford IceHogs for their playoff push and put up two assists in five April games. The Chicago native should get a chance to play for his hometown team at some point in 2015-16. Matt Donohue

February 2015 – After a freshman season at Notre Dame that saw Hinostroza finish third on the team in scoring with 32 points, the playmaker has enjoyed similar success in 2014-15. Through 30 games as a sophomore, he has six goals to go along with 25 assists and leads the Irish in scoring. In his two seasons at the NCAA level, Hinostroza has been able to overcome his size and make an impact like he has at every level throughout his career. The ‘too small to make it’ chip on his shoulder has served him well thus far and it will be interesting to see if his playmaking ability will translate to the next level. Look for Hinostroza to spend another season at Notre Dame before he makes a choice on turning pro. Matt Donohue

May, 2013 – Vince Hinostroza is a gritty playmaking center with great hockey IQ and a solid all around game. The diminutive forward stands only at 5-9, but his play speaks larger volumes. He spent the 2012-2013 campaign playing with the Waterloo Blackhawks in the USHL, posting 25 goals and 35 assists in 46 games (good for fourth on the team). Although they didn’t go too far in the playoffs, Hinostroza’s ability to show up when it matters was evident as he led the team in scoring with seven points. Perhaps his best asset is his tireless work ethic and high hockey IQ, which should be a green light for the Chicago management. Next season he will be playing with Notre Dame of the NCAA, so look for him to further improve his game. Size is a concern, but Hinostroza has the potential to reach the NHL as a top-nine forward at worst.
