June 2022 – Tampa’s sixth-round pick in 2017 made the jump to the AHL this season after four years at St. Cloud State. The defenseman had eight points in 12 games with Syracuse.
Perbix has an incredible pass that he gets off with quickness and accuracy. This really stands out on the powerplay, where the puck goes through him but doesn’t stay on his stick long. He has a very solid two-way game and never lets a pinch catch him out of position. Perbix has a sneaky good wrist shot he can get on net from anywhere in the offensive zone. He uses his body to box guys out of the blue paint and is fairly active in his own zone. He’s going to need to develop a higher risk tolerance and jump up into more plays in order to unlock more offensive potential at the next level. He needs to develop more quickness in his skating to keep up with NHL pace. Nine times out of 10 he goes for the simple, high percentage play. Decent fantasy potential especially with peripheral categories, while chipping in 30-35 points on a 2nd pair or a Stanley Cup-winning team’s 3rd pair. Caleb Kerney
