July 2022 – The Flyers re-signed Laczynski to a two-year, two-way/one-way contract worth $1.525M. Looking for an injection of youth throughout the roster, look for Philadelphia to provide Laczynski a real opportunity to fill a bottom-six spot. John Gove

June 2022 – Once expected to miss the entire 2021-22 season due to injury, Laczynski managed to play 28 AHL games after being activated in February. In that short sample size with Lehigh Valley, Laczynski recorded seven goals and ten assists. When healthy, there is no denying the 25-year-olds effectiveness. Even Phantoms head coach Ian Laperriere views him as a prospect most likely to make the Flyers roster next season. The issue for Laczynski is staying healthy, something he has failed to do in his brief professional career. If he can next season, look for him to compete for a role on Philadelphia’s fourth line to start the year. John Gove

March 2020 – Tanner Laczynski has signed his entry-level contract with the Flyers. Barring an unforeseen leap in production he is expected to report to Lehigh Valley in the fall. He was very good although he did not break out as hoped. While he did not present a compelling case for the Hobey Baker Award as some hoped, he has been quietly excelling what one typically expects from a former sixth-round pick. While he can contribute offensively, his leadership and play along the boards will most likely be his biggest selling points at the professional level. Edric Joseph

July 2018 – Tanner Laczynski has experienced a steady improvement over his freshman year with the Ohio State Buckeyes. In fact, he was a key reason why the Buckeyes clinched the 4th seed going into the National Championship tournament. Make no mistake over Laczynski’s production, he is a two-way presence and has the makings of a bottom-six fixture for the Flyers than can move up the depth chart in a pinch. Expect him to report to Ohio State at least once more in the fall for another tour of duty at the collegiate level. Edric Joseph

December 2017 – Tanner Laczynski is continuing to build steam during his second season with the Ohio State Buckeyes, as he has 23 points in just 18 games. It is pleasing to see his skills are growing into his body as he certainly has the instincts of someone who can augment the offense of any team he dresses for. Unlike a lot of power forwards, Laczynski demonstrates sound decision making in all areas of the ice. He also showing that he is better harnessing of his physical tools including his newly acquired muscle mass. If he is not turning enough heads as it is, he likely will after the coming World Junior Championships. Edric Joseph

September 2016 – After an impressive sophomore campaign in the USHL, which included a trade from Chicago to Lincoln, Tanner Laczynski is looking to take the next step as he makes his way to Ohio State this winter. The speedy center plays a very skillful game, however he’s quite cerebral in his approach, making him a very effective forward. Laczynski’s ability to read plays and pick apart breakouts is where his true value is seen, as he often finds himself in alone after stripping the puck off the oppositions blade. He’s a smooth skater with a long, noticeable stride, and uses his body extremely well when it comes to protecting the puck both upon zone entry and down low in the offensive zone. Laczynski has been an effective point producer, but given his two way abilities he’s not likely going to be a forty-plus point NHL guy. If he does end up cracking the roster in the not so distant future, he likely fits in on a third line role. It is common, however, for college players to make strides offensively in the college style game, so I would be fairly optimistic as a Flyer fan or fantasy owner. Brennen York
