Observations

June 2020 – Knight is one of four goalies invited to Team USA’s 2020 World Junior Summer Showcase. It is hard to imagine a scenario where Knight does not make the WJC team and it is a safe bet to pin him as the starting netminder for the United States come tournament time. John Gove

April 2020 – Knight is an incredibly athletic netminder who looked comfortable in his NCAA freshman campaign, but likely needs another three-to-four years before he’s sliding from post-to-post, in the NHL. Once he gets into Florida’s system and starts working with their goalie coach, Knight will start settling into the franchise goaltender he’s projected to be. Keith Fries

January 2020 – Knight was instrumental in Team USA bringing home a silver medal at the 2020 WJC. The Panther’s first-round pick has been having a terrific season at Boston College and kept that rolling for the Americans. He posted a 0.913 save percentage over four tournament games and was named a top 3 player on his team. Knight remains one of the premier netminding prospects in the world. Cam Robinson

June 2019 – Knight has been drafted 13th overall by the Panthers.  Jokke Nevalainen

June 2019 – Knight was officially measured at 6-foot-3.5 and 193 pounds at the NHL Draft Combine.  Jokke Nevalainen

February 2019 – Knight has continued to be the backbone for The Program. He’s been nearly unbeatable against USHL competition, but it’s his performances against NCAA Division I schools and on the international scene are what have really stood out. His .916 save percentage in 20 USNTDP contests rivals some of the best season-long performance in the history of The Program. He appears to be a lock for the first-round this June with an eye towards being the first goaltender selected in the top-15 since Jack Campbell in 2010. Knight is off to Boston College in the fall. Cam Robinson

December 2018 – After a terrific start to his draft-eligible campaign, Spencer Knight has made the World Junior roster for the Americans. Likely pegged as the third netminder, this will be an invaluable experience for the 17-year-old. He’s the clear favourite to lead the team in the next two tournaments. Cam Robinson
