Observations:

April 2018 – Tippett had a great season in the OHL where he scored 36 goals and 75 points in 51 games, and he jumped to the AHL after his team was eliminated in the OHL playoffs. In five AHL games, Tippett had two points and 11 shots. Tippett will make a push to crack the NHL roster next fall. He’s not eligible to play in the AHL next season which could give him a longer leash. Jokke Nevalainen

March 2018 – In the Eastern Conference side of annual OHL Coaches Poll, Tippett won the Best Shot vote for the second straight year, and he also finished second in the Most Dangerous in the Goal Area category.  Jokke Nevalainen

December 2017 – Tippett started the season with the Panthers but only played in seven games before being sent back to junior. Expectations were high but he’s having a somewhat slow start to his OHL season with seven goals and 19 points in 17 games – although he’s leading the league with 5.94 shots on goal per game. Tippett, along with four other Top 15 selections from last summer’s draft, will not represent Canada at the upcoming World Junior Championship tournament in Buffalo. Tippett is still eligible to play in the tournament next year but he could be playing in the NHL at that point. Tippett has all the tools to become a great goal-scorer at the NHL level but learning to bounce back from disappointments like these will be very important for his NHL future.  Jokke Nevalainen

February 2017- Arguably the best shot in the 2017 draft class, Tippett is a pure goal scorer. He has a lethal shot, it is quick, hard, and accurate and he is able to disguise his release very well. Besides taking a high volume of shots, Tippett is also a big player that uses his size, reach and strength to protect the puck, win board battles and provide a strong net presence. The other asset to his game is his above average skating, his breakaway speed and acceleration gives him separation ability and like all components of his game he uses all his skill to support his goal scoring tendency.
