September 2017- Snuggerud had an eye-opening performance at the Traverse City Prospects tournament. He finished second overall in scoring ( seven points ) and first in plus/minus with an astounding plus-eight in just four games. A upper body injury suffered in his first preseason game will keep him out of action for the next three weeks which will hurt his chances of starting the season in the NHL but it is only a matter of time before he  suits up for the Blackhawks. March 2017- The Blackhawks have signed Snuggerud to a three year, entry-level contract. The University of Nebraska-Omaha defenceman finished his junior season with the Mavericks on Sunday and will forgo his senior campaign. The contract begins in the 2017-18 season. Snuggerud has also signed an amateur tryout contract with the Rockford IceHogs and will report there for the remainder of this season.

Snuggerud finished his season tied for the NCAA lead in goals by a defenceman with 11 and also tied for eighth in scoring with 31 points. These stats contributed to him being named to the NCHC all conference second team. Tony Carr

January 2017- Scoring at almost a point per game, Snuggerud is emerging as a leader in his third year with the University of Nebraska-Omaha.~Tony Carr

January 2016 - Through 21 games of his sophomore campaign, Snuggerud has tallied two goals and eight assists for the seventh-ranked University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. He is receiving more ice time so far this season and is scoring at a slightly higher clip than he did as a freshman.  The offensive minded defenseman is still refining his play in his own end and this will come as he grows into his frame. Look for Snuggerud to spend at least one more season in the NCAA ranks before considering the jump to the pros. Matt Donohue

January 2015 – Since being drafted in the fifth round in June, Snuggerud is half way through his freshman season with the University of Nebraska-Omaha. A highly recruited defenseman out of Minnesota, he has two goals to go along with nine assists in 22 games this season. Perhaps more importantly, Snuggerud leads all defensemen on the eighth ranked Mavericks in shots and +/-, averaging two shots per game. He is still years away from making an impact at the NHL level, but it is promising to see him making this kind of impact in the NCAA as a 19 year old. Matt Donohue

June 2014 - The Chicago Blackhawks selected Luc Snuggerud 151st overall at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Brendan Ross

June 2014 – Named Minnesota's Top Defenseman as the recipient of the Reed Larson Award, Snuggerud is a naturally intelligent player and it's this IQ that allows him to engage offensively. He was produced at over a point-per-game in the Minnesota high school league and showed his ability to lead the offence as a puck rushing defender. He is committed to the University of Omaha-Nebraska and is projected to be a top 100 pick at the 2014 NHL Draft.  Luc's uncle, Dave Snuggerud played in the NHL suiting up with the Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks and Philadelphia Flyers. Brendan Ross

Fantasy Outlook: B

Snuggerud isn’t overly large but he plays a sound two-way game that features promising offensive and defensive elements.
