Observations:

 

July 2014 – Rangers did not quality Jean and he is free agent. Dobber

 

March 2014 – Jean has split his second professional season between Hartford and Greenville. In Hartford he plays fourth line minutes and has not played well. After this season he will be a restricted free agent and it’s likely the Rangers will let him go. He is not a fantasy prospect. Jozsef Kurtosi

 

May 2013 – Jean started his pro career on a strong note with 13 points in his first 14 games with Connecticut of the AHL. He then hit a wall and finished the campaign with just 10 points in his final 59 contests. As a power forward he still has time to take the next step and become a late bloomer but his pro numbers show that he is nowhere near being NHL ready at this point. Eric Daoust

 

October 2012 – Jean was a free agent that fore went his final two NCAA seasons at Lake Superior State (CCHA) to sign with the Rangers this past summer. He is a big, underrated, power forward coming out of the junior league of the NAHL that went undrafted who impressed during New York’s prospects camp to earn an early contract. He is a hard-hitting center that utilizes his size well to protect the puck and comes with an accurate and powerful shot.

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Jean has shown a smooth transition early in the season to the AHL from the college ranks, but in this organization he’ll need to wait a couple of years for a legit shot.
