Observations:

July 2012 – Pittsburgh likes the size and potential Veilleux offers and re-signed him in order to continue his development in Wilkes-Barre. He is on the long road to the NHL as he offers both limited production and enforcing abilities. If he plays the way he did before his blown knee, he could unseat Steve MacIntyre (who has zero production capabilities) very quickly.  Jason Banks

June, 2012 – Keven Veilleux offers an intriguing blend of size, skill and physical play and is still very young at 22 years of age.  Unfortunately, he has a long track record of injuries that have slowed his development.  A preseason knee injury caused him to miss the entire 2011-12 season and his entry level contract expires this summer.  Whether the Penguins decide to retain him or not remains to be seen, but with some additional development he could become a good depth player in the NHL capable of being a good roto league producer.  He produced 36 points and 122 PIM in 66 games in 2010-11 in the AHL.

Fantasy Outlook: D+

Modest upside, but is not ready for the NHL and is a major health risk.
