Observations:

 

July 2014 – Lehtera has signed with the Blues, and will likely step right into their lineup. Ken Hitchcock is a big fan of his, saying he could slot anywhere in the lineup. Look for him to play mainly in the middle-six next year, and he could put up as many as 40 points. Austin Wallace

 

June 2013 – Lehtera led his team this season with 17 goals and 48 points in 52 games. This marks his second consecutive KHL campaign in the point-per-game region. If he comes over to the NHL he could be a strong contributor immediately but at 25 years of age that day may never come. Eric Daoust

October, 2012 – Lehterä has been on fire this fall. He has five goals and 11 assists in the first ten games of the season and he was chosen as the best forward of September in the KHL, in front of names like Evgeni Malkin, Alex Ovechkin or Pavel Datsyuk. Lehterä is rumoured to have an NHL out clause in his two-year contract with Sibir and will consider a move to the NHL if he gets a one-way contract after the season. Miika Arponen

 

April, 2011 – Lehterä is a highly skilled and creative pivot who has a good hockey vision and is good protecting the puck. He uses his size well but needs to improve his defensive game and skating in order to become an top six forward in the NHL. Other problem with him is that he requires a one-way contract to come to the NHL and it’s not clear whether St. Louis is willing to give him one.

 

Fantasy Outlook: B

NHL ready, signed and should step right into a third-line role with the Blues. He will play a two-way game, and could earn his way into the top-six.
