Observations:

February 2014 – Blain has been toiling in the ECHL, and is at less than half a point per game. Even with the Comets being one of the worst teams in the NHL, Blain hasn't been able to earn a single game for them. His progress from last season hasn't translated and he is quickly getting buried on the Canucks depth chart. At 21, he is still young but he has to show progress soon. Austin Wallace

 

September 2013 – On July 5th, 2013, Quebec born defenseman Jeremie Blain signed a three-year entry level contract with the Vancouver Canucks. In 2012-13, Blain split time between the AHL and ECHL posting four points (Chicago Wolves) and 31 points (Idaho Steelheads) respectively. Blain's strong showing in the ECHL resulted in a promotion to the AHL and earned him a pro-contract so continuing his ascend up the ranks is a must for this 2010 4th round selection of the Oilers. May 2012 – Jeremie Blain had a great season and put up 50 points, which was among the top ten for defenseman. He was traded from Acadie-Bathurst to Victoriaville and was hoping for a long playoff run, but was unfortunately upset in the first round. Blain is a big, physical defenseman who plays on the powerplay, penalty kill and against the other teams top players. He has high-end hockey sense and a great offensive skillset. His defensive game will be the only thing that holds him back at the next level. Derek LeBlanc

Could conceivably still be a top four defensemen, but the chances are very slim.
