Observations:

 

April 2013- Gregory Hofmann is an extremely good skater and he has blistering speed, his tall wiry frame only accentuates his stride, but that frame is also his biggest weakness. The opposition finds it easy to take him off the puck in the corners, although he does make up for it in elusiveness and quick jerky cutting and stopping, he needs to add weight to his skinny frame though if he wants to make it to the NHL. Hofmann has a quick shot, soft hands, and his deking is mesmerizing, he always seems to find the puck no matter where it is on the ice. Hofmann has great upside but coming from a Swiss league, that doesn’t exactly challenge its elite players, there is a lot of risk for the Carolina Hurricanes.

 

Fantasy Outlook: C

Gregory Hofmann could be one of those elite forwards with his highly dangerous and accurate shot; however not facing much competition in Switzerland it’s hard pinpoint his skill level. Hofmann is expected to finish out his Swiss contract and is still three years at least from cracking an NHL lineup unless he blows Carolina away with his play in the AHL once eligible.
