December 2017 – Tiny and averse to physical contact, the explosive skater must put up points to earn more than his current one-year deal. He’s doing respectably with six goals and 13 points in 20 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, but he’s also minus-5 for the powerful AHL Penguins. At 25, his NHL aspirations are ebbing, although he’s playing for Canada Dec. 26 to 31 at the Spengler Cup tournament in Switzerland. Playing well would increase his odds of being named to the national team for the Winter Olympics in South Korea. Mark Allan

September 2017 – The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins signed Thomas to a one-year AHL contract. It’s a reward for the son of former NHL speedster Steve Thomas after Christian hit AHL career highs of 24 goals, 25 assists and 49 points in 65 games with the Hershey Bears. Still only 25, Thomas potted a dozen PP goals, fifth best in the league. Although he’s played in 27 NHL games, Thomas has just a goal and two assists with the big boys and is shaping up as a useful minor-league offensive contributor. Mark Allan

September 2016- Signed to a one-year, two-way contract in July, Christian Thomas comes into the Washington Capitals hoping to earn a spot on the big team. Thomas put up two assist in six games between Montreal and Arizona last season but spent the majority of the year in the AHL. He's expected to play a similar role in Washington for 2016-17, spending most of the season in Hershey but offering a depth option for the Capitals. Keith Duggan

December 2015-  Christian Thomas has been traded to the Arizona Coyotes for forward Lucas Lessio. Thomas has spent most of the season in the AHL, tallying seven goals and 14 points in 18 games with St. John's. He did appear in five games with the Canadians, chipping in a pair of assists. This seems like more of a depth move for the Coyotes, as right off the bat Thomas has been sent to Springfield of the AHL. Keith Duggan

March 2015 - Thomas has had his longest showing in the NHL to date, suiting up for 18 games with the Canadiens as an injury call-up. Unfortunately, his production both in the NHL and down in the AHL have been disappointing. In order to secure a full-time gig in the NHL with his small stature, he is going to have to step up the point production. Eric Daoust

October 2014 - Thomas has been very good in camp but was ultimately demoted to the minors. His lack of size is playing a role in his fate. Keep an eye on how his opportunities are handled if he gets called up as an injury replacement this year. Eric Daoust

February 2014 - Thomas just had a two-game cup of coffee with the Canadiens. He did not have a chance to do much as he averaged just seven minutes of ice time per game. He is now back in Hamilton where he is having a successful season so far with five goals and 14 points in 23 contests. The Canadiens' minor-league forwards have not been lighting up the score sheet so Thomas' production is a good sign. Eric Daoust

September 2013 - After getting a long look at training camp Thomas was one of the team's final cuts. He will start the season with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. Eric Daoust

September 2013 - Thomas has been placed on a line with Tomas Plekanec and Rene Bourque in training camp. He is obviously replacing the injured Brian Gionta on the trio but the fact that he was chosen for the spot over other prospects could be an indication of where he stands in the call-up order and how he will be used when he gets his chance in Montreal. Eric Daoust

July 2013 - Thomas was traded to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for prospect Danny Kristo. This does not change much in terms of his fantasy potential but the Canadiens do have a need for scoring wingers. Eric Daoust

March 2013 - After scoring 129 goals over his last three OHL seasons, the Rangers were hoping to see Thomas top a point every two games and flirt with 20 goals as an AHL rookie. So far so good, that's about what he's delivered, which paves the way for a big breakout as an AHL sophomore in 2013-14. Eric Daoust

February 2012 – Christian Thomas is a small, speedy forward with a quick release on his shot. The son of former NHLer Steve Thomas likes to compete hard and is not afraid to battle in tough areas despite his small size. Thomas has led the Oshawa Generals in scoring for the past three seasons, and managed to finish sixth in the OHL points race last season. There is no doubt Thomas is very skilled offensively, but his ability to compete based on size and strength remain question marks at the NHL level. Thomas Wall

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Thomas has yet to make his mark in the NHL and is showing no signs of that changing.
