DobberProspects

It is Thursday again, time for some ramblings. I will go over the current CHL, AHL and KHL playoffs.

In the KHL Ak Bars Kazan is currently leading noted SKA Putin defeaters CSKA Moscow two games to one, winning the last two 2-1 but losing the last game 3-2 in overtime.

One of my previous favorite prospects who was never given a legitimate NHL shot, and Capitals fans will agree, Stanislav Galiev has three goals in the series and currently sits fourth overall in playoff scoring with 15 points in 17 games. Ten of those 15 points have been goals, with the last three all being assisted by Vladimir Tkachyov (the younger one rumoured to sign in Toronto the last few seasons).

My current favorite prospect Kirill Kaprizov has only 10 points in 18 games, with two goals, as teams are staying incredibly tight to him and nothing is going in when he does get chances.

In the OHL the Hamilton Bulldogs took the first game against the Kingston Frontenacs 6-2, with Robert Thomas leading the way with three assists. Game two is this Friday.

The other match up of Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds versus the Kitchener Rangers will begin this Friday as well.

Interesting stat for playoff performance here is that the top four scorers all play on the final four teams:

Logan Brown (KIT) – 12games: 3G 18A 21pts

Gabriel Vilardi (KGN) – 12 games: 11G 9A 20pts

Boris Katchouk (SSM) – 11 games: 11G 8A 19pts

Robert Thomas (HAM) – 11games: 6G 12A 18pts

The next five players are all tied with 17 points

Flying over to the west coast to the WHL we have the final four set up

Everett Silvertips will face off against the Tri-City Americans, and the Swift Current Broncos will face off the Lethbridge Hurricanes, both match ups are set for Friday.

Rangers fourth round pick Brad Morrison is ripping up the playoffs to the tune of 29 points in 10 games for Lethbridge. Yes he is an over-ager and I rarely advocate for picking them up in fantasy hockey, and this is no different.

The top line of the Swift Current Broncos of Glenn Gawdin, Tyler Steenbergen, and Aleksi Heponiemi has been stellar still. Heponiemi is leading the WHL playoff in assists with 18, but that is all of his points as he has no goals.

The QMJHL final four playoffs will soon be underway with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada versus the Charlottetown Islanders, and Acadie-Bathurst Titan is taking on the Victoriaville Tigres. Five of the top ten scorers are from Blainville-Boisbriand, with Drake Batherson leading the way with 18 points in nine games. With how low scoring the Q usually is I am surprised by all the scoring totals.
