Shoots: R

Height: 6-1

Weight: 154

Born: 1994-03-06

Hometown: St. Louis, MO

Drafted: 4th Round (112st Overall) 2013 to St. Louis

Observations:

October 2017- After being acquired in a trade for Nail Yakupov, Pochiro has only played in four total AHL games. But in the ECHL he put up some decent numbers. In 42 games played, he only scored three goals but put up 24 assists. He is now apart of the Allen Americans of the ECHL. Their season has not started yet but I would expect for his numbers to grow this year. Spencer Pomoty

October 2016 – He’s coming off his first professional season in the ECHL with Quad City that saw him register nine goals and 17 assists in 44 games. Pochiro was then traded to the Edmonton Oilers with a draft pick for former first-overall pick Nail Yakupov.

Pochiro is a defensively aware power forward who should be considered more of a project for the Oilers. Pochiro’s skating and abilities with the puck have been seen as knocks on his game but he has scored at a point-per-game pace in each of his final two seasons with the WHL’s Prince George Cougars. Pochiro is a born leader and is willing to drop the mitts to protect teammates. It will be something to see if Pochiro can pull a full-time role in the AHL with Bakersfield and develop his offensive game to the level it needs to be. While he may be a longshot in a deeper prospect system the Oilers have created over the past couple of drafts, his potential could overcome any injuries he might suffer. Adding some meat to his slender 154-pound frame is essential if he is to have any future as a power forward. Brayden Sully
