Observations:
August 2017 – Kosmachuk played out his entry-level contract in the AHL last season, finishing with 11 goals and 28 points in 58 games with the Manitoba Moose. The Jets elected not to give the 23-year-old a qualifying offer and he became an unrestricted free agent on July 1. At this point, it is unclear if Kosmachuk will be back with the Jets organization. Jamie Zadow
October 2016 – The Jets sent Scott Kosmachuk to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL to start the season. David Dickenson
The average sized winger found a scoring touch late in his OHL career back in 2013-14, and has kept up a little of the pace in his first two pro season with 28 and 36 points respectively. He should still have a bright future, but with the Jets prospect closet well stocked at the moment, he will have a fight on his hands to earn the top-six line minutes he requires to be a productive NHLer. David Dickenson
November 2015 – The former 100-point scorer from the OHL has yet to find his way as a pro, managing just 30 points in 81 AHL contests to date. Manitoba's offense is anemic, thanks to most of the top young guns already graduated to Winnipeg, but as a sophomore Kosmachuk was – and still is – expected to play a big part in the offense. That hasn't happened yet. He was an early cut in training camp. What all this indicates – he'll be several years before making the jump. Dobber
May 2014 – Kosmachuk was named to the OHL's 2nd All-Star Team joining Connor McDavid, Michael Dal Colle, Adam Pelech, Nikita Zadorov and Matt Murray. After winning the OHL Championship earlier in May, Kosmachuk and his Storm teammates are headed to London to compete for the 2014 CHL Mastercard Memorial Cup beginning May 16th. Brendan Ross
March 2014 – Scott Kosmachuk is on fire right now and has just eclipsed the 100-point mark with the Guelph Storm. He has 34 points in the past 19 games, including two four-goal games and currently leads the OHL in scoring. Guelph is also first in the Western Conference, so expect a deep run for the championship this season.
December 2013 – The Winnipeg Jets announced that have signed Scott Kosmachuk to a three-year entry level deal, worth an average of $925,000. Kosmachuk is a key cog of the Storm's offence, leading the team in goals and currently tied for 11th in OHL scoring (25 goals, 23 assists, in 34 games). He has been a consistent force for the Storm in his past four years with the organization. Depending on whether the Storm will make the playoffs or not, the Jets' management may want to audition him in the AHL for a few games. Kosmachuk's development is going smoothly and should develop into a well rounded NHL forward. Kevin Won
November 2013 – Scott Kosmachuk of the Guelph Storm was named to the OHL roster for the 2013 SUBWAY Super Series. Kosmachuk’s 30 points through the first 18 games places him in a share of the Storm scoring lead. Brendan Ross
September 2013 – Kosmachuk was among the first cuts at the Jets' training camp. He played one preseason game, tallying one goal. He is being re-assigned to Guelph in the OHL. Kosmachhuk will be on the top line again, so look for him to be among the leaders this year. Kevin Won
July, 2013 – Scott Kosmachuk ended his third campaign with the Guelph Storm with 65 points (35 goals, 30 assists) in 68 games while racking up 105 penalty minutes. His stats this season are overshadowed by the fact that he would score in bunches and suffer from bouts of inconsistency. His greatest assets are his hockey IQ, his physicality, and great work ethic. He is expected to remain for another season in Guelph and further develop. Kevin Won
December 2012 – Guelph Storm forward Scott Kosmachuk has been named OHL Player of the Week (ending November 25th) after registering six goals and eight points with a shiny plus-6 rating on the week. Through 27 games in his third OHL campaign, KLosmachuk has tallied 18 goals for 32 points to go along with 45 PIM. The Jets' prospect is looking like he has the potential to become a valuable member in deeper roto leagues. Brendan Ross
June, 2012 – Kosmachuk was one of two 30 goal scorers on a young Guelph team and was the highest scoring 1994-born player in the OHL. He is a player that will do anything to win including dropping the mitts to spark his team. He is a gritty forward with a knack for irritating his opponents and his scoring touch featuring an elite release adds a real nice offensive element to his game.
At 23, he hasn't caught on in the NHL just yet — a brief cup of coffee with the Jets in 2015-16 — and he projects to be more of a two-way forward in a bottom six role. A definite stash in deeper fantasy hockey leagues.
