Observations:

May 2017 – After two AHL campaigns and a 2015-16 seven-game stint with New Jersey, the former A-Devils’ blue line staple has inked a one-year deal with HC Vityaz of the KHL.Kevin Wickersham

April 2017 – Mozik continued to display impressive two-way play with AHL Albany as he racked up 11 goals, including nine on the power play, and 11 assists on 150 shots in 2016-17. His 56 penalty minutes ranked second to Andrew McWilliam and plus-20 was tops among A-Devil blueliners. A restricted free agent this off-season, he should land at minimum an AHL role next year with perhaps NHL potential in training camp should he not opt to return to the Czech Republic. Kevin Wickersham

December 2016 – Mozik has had a relatively successful run with Albany since he arrived from the Czech Republic in 2015, including two brief stints with New Jersey. His plus/minus ratings in the AHL have been impressive, as he registered a plus-28 rating in 2015-16, and plus-11 through 16 games in 2016-17. An imposing presence, Mozik can rifle shots from the point and currently leads Albany defensemen in shots on goal with 35, although this has yet to translate into a great number of goals (two this year, and two in 53 games last year). He continues to display an intriguing combination of offensive and defensive skills that may help him to carve out a future in the NHL eventually, but with New Jersey’s growing number of prospects on defense, the path is not an easy one at the moment. Kevin Wickersham

November 2015 – Mozik had a rough training camp. He had to use a different pair of skates and a different stick than to what he was used to. He had to adjust to a different sized rink and different style of play. He also ended up injuring his knee and underwent surgery towards the end of camp. Since then Mozik has been playing really well in Albany. He is 2nd among defenseman in scoring with a goal and six assists in 13 games. He also leads Albany in plus/minus with a plus-eleven. Showing that he is capable of playing solid defense although he is known more as a offensive defenseman. With Merrill and Gelinas struggling on Devils there is a slight chance that Mozik can be called up this season. Justin Nobre

June 2015 – On June 15, 2015, the Devils signed free agent Vojtech Mozik. The 22-year-old defenseman has spent the past three years playing for Plzen of the top Czech league, Extraliga. Mozik has had success in the Czech league and he won a championship with Plzen in 2012-2013. Mozik is a big and mobile offensive defenseman that brings a big booming shot from the point. He led all Czech defenseman last year with career high 10 goals and finished the season with 19 assists and 94 penalty minutes in 51 games.  A good comparable for Mozik would be fellow Devils defenseman Eric Gelinas. The Devils will get a good look at Mozik during their prospect development camp but Mozik will most likely play in the AHL for the 2015-2016 season. Justin Nobre

Fantasy Outlook: C+

Growing pains are expected as Mozik gets acclimated to playing on North American ice but he should put up a good amount of points in a few years.
