Observations:
March 2016 – Teravainen has 11 goals to go along with 19 assists through 65 games of his sophomore campain. These numbers are even more impressive for the 21 year-old when you consider that he has played the majority of the season on the third line, averaging just over 15 minutes of ice per game. It feels like it has been a long time coming for Teravainen, who finally appears to have found consistency in his game, which can be attributed to finding a home centering the third line for Coach Q. With the departure of Philip Danault at the trade deadline, Teravainen was given the role and has not disappointed. On top of that, he has been receiving ample minutes killing penalties for the Blackhawks. Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see how Teravainen is utilized once Marcus Kruger returns and likely resumes his role as the third line center. Matt Donohue
November 2015 – Through 14 games in 2015-16, Teravainen has put up four goals to go along with three assists. Better yet, he has scored four of those points in the four games since he was moved up to play alongside Patrick Kane. Teravainen has picked up right where he left off during last spring's playoff run, where he had 10 points in 16 games. His opportunity on Kane's line has come as a result of a Marian Hossa injury, so it will be interesting to see if he will keep getting the opportuntity when everyone is healthy. Matt Donohue
January 2015 – After putting up 23 points in 37 AHL games to begin the 2014-15 season, Teravainen was recalled on January 2nd. He has two goals and an assist in seven games and is averaging 12:27 TOI per game, playing mostly on the fourth line. Despite the limited action, he has started to get more comfortable with the NHL game. With all the hype that has surrounded Teravainen since being drafted in the first round in 2012, it’s easy to forget that he is just 20 years old and still filling out his frame. He remains a strong hold in your dynasty league and could pay dividends in yearly leagues if he starts to earn those coveted top-six minutes. Matt Donohue
July 2014 – Despite impressing at this month's prospect camp, the Blackhawks admitted that Teravainen still isn't quite ready to make the leap to the NHL. Anyone that saw him play down the stretch last season could tell that he still needed some seasoning in the North American game in addition to putting on some size. It is important to remember that he is just 19-years-old and a year or two with Rockford in the AHL will serve him very well. Ideally, the Blackhawks will let Teravainen spend the entire season in the AHL, but you never know with injuries and we may just see him back with the Blackhawks this season. Matt Donohue
March 2014 – The Blackhawks have recalled top prospect Teuvo Teravainen after he completed a terrific season with SM-liiga's Jokerit scoring nine goals and 44 points in 49 games finishing sixth in league scoring as a 19-year-old. Teravainen had a tremendous showing at the 2014 World Junior Championships running away with the scoring title (7GP-2G-13A-15P) on route to a Finnish Gold medal and All-star selection. His high-end puck skills, slippery elusiveness and creative offensive attack will transition perfectly into the Blackhawks roster. With Patrick Kane slated to miss three weeks of action, Teravainen will receive plenty of offensive minutes and should produce good numbers. Brendan Ross
September 2013- Teravainen has returned to his Finnish team, Jokerit. The move was mutually agreed upon by Teuvo and the Blackhawks as both parties feel he will see bigger minutes there than he would in either Rockford or Chicago. He has proven over the off-season in International play, prospect and training camps that he's ready for the pro game. He will in all likely-hood be back in Rockford once Jokerit's season is done which should get him a few regular season games prior to the Calder Cup playoffs, assuming of course the Icehogs can right the ship and get back in the playoffs. In any case look for Teravainen to be over here to stay next season and he will push hard for a spot with the Blackhawks this time next year. Rex Doty
August 2013 – Teräväinen, who signed an ELC last week, was arguably the best performer in the WJC mini-camp and is looking more and more like that star. In fact, he would be a lock for the Blackhawks if he weighed 190 pounds instead of 169. Teravainen is expected to play in Finland this season. – Dobber
June 2013 – As an 18 year-old in just his second season with Jokerit in Finland's top-tier SM-Liga, Teravainen had 31 points in 44 games. That marks a full 13 point increase in just four more games than his rookie season with Jokerit. But he didn't stop there. Teravainen also posted 11 points in six games for Finland in the WJC. While Chicago is in a position to allow Teravainen to continue to hone his game in the SM-Liga, if he continues to post seasons like that it won't be long until we see him on North American ice. Rex Doty
December, 2012 – The exciting Teravainen will represent Finland in the WJC in Russia. Rich Dillon
October, 2012 – Teräväinen came with huge expectations coming into this season but he has been struggling the first seven games he has played. His only point, an assist, came in the seventh game. He is also minus-3 in that span. He is still making very creative plays and trying hard; for example, he has 29 shots in those seven games but the goals just are not coming. There's no need to worry thoug,h as Teravainen is a promising prospect. Miika Arponen
June, 2012 – Arguably the second best offensive player in this draft class, Teräväinen is a creative forward with soft hands and elite vision making him a threat on the offensive attack. He is a little undersized but his strong hockey sense allows him to play an efficient game that keeps his size a non-factor. Brendan Ross
February, 2012 – A mid-September birthday will likely make Teuvo Teravainen one of the youngest prospects to be drafted in the first round in 2012. The diminutive Finnish winger has been an offensive force to be reckoned with playing for Jokerit and their Under 20 team in the SM-liiga in 2011-12. A natural scorer with the agility and quickness to elude defenders, Teravainen’s future looks quite promising.
Fantasy Outlook: A
