Observations:

November 2015- Brett Bulmer has been demoted to the Iowa Wild after averaging just 6:43 in playing time in three appearances one would think the move would have to be for the best. Even in sheltered minutes it is pleasing to see Bulmer staying healthy so far this campaign, though he still has a way to go before appearing on fantasy radars once more. Edric Joseph

October 2015- Given his one-way contract and the recent injuries to other players being considered, Bulmer stand’s a chance to make his long awaited return to the NHL. He’s only had 14 games experience to date and could use the chance to show that he still has something to offer the professional ranks after being sidelined with injuries over the past few seasons. Edric Joseph

August 2015 – In one of the more sentimentally valuable stories leading up to the upcoming season, the Minnesota Wild has signed Brett Bulmer to a one-year, two-way contract for the Minnesota Wild despite a laundry list of health concerns. It’s a remarkable development and indicative to his persistent spirit given how he hasn’t played in two years and is five years removed from being drafted by the Wild in the 2010 NHL draft. What fantasy viability he has is off in the distance as his main priority is to stay healthy at this point while resuscitating his professional hockey career. Edric Joseph

March 2015- Compared to the previous season, it seems that progress made by Brett Bulmer has been limited. Bulmer continues to be a presence on the defensive side of the game, while having marginal contributions made in the offensive zone. He has been playing a smarter game taking less penalties however he still struggles to remain healthy enough to make himself useful for long on offense.  Bulmer still can make a nice bottom six addition for the Minnesota Wild in the coming seasons, making a nice addition to fantasy hockey teams that include truculent categories. Edric Joseph

April 2014 – Bulmer has been solid in AHL Iowa this season appearing in 42 games, finding the back of the net 11 times and adding eight assists for 19 points. He continues to cement himself as a solid shut down winger with the team's AHL affiliate and even earned a mid-season call-up in December to replace the injured Justin Fontaine. Although Bulmer has good size and has shown some offensive ability, it appears his future in a Minnesota Wild uniform will likely be as a checking, energy forward. Jamie Zadow

December 2013 – After missing more than 30 games due to injury last season, Bulmer has bounced back nicely in his second full season of professional hockey. Through 17 games with Iowa in the AHL he leads the team with six goals and has also tallied two assists. Bulmer has found the net more often this season and that also compliments his solid two-way game on the offensive end. Jamie Zadow

May 2013 –  The 21-year old power-forward played his first full season of professional hockey in 2012/2013 with the Houston Aeros (AHL). At 6-3, 193 lbs. the Prince George native has become one of Houston’s shut down defensive wingers and excels in getting underneath the opposing team’s skin. Bulmer received his first opportunity with the Wild in the 2011/2012 season and appeared in 9 NHL games. He went on to record his first three career assists before being assigned back to Junior with Kelowna.  Bulmer has struggled to put the puck in the net for Houston this season (seven points, 43 GP). He may not yet have the offensive skill to be an NHL scorer. Although, with the Wild set to compete next year in what looks to be a very big, strong and skilled Central Division, 2014 could be the year that Bulmer’s physical presence and sky-high two-way potential gets him consistent third or fourth line playing time at the NHL level. – Clayton Bailey

February 2012 – Bulmer is a big, fast, forward that is responsible in his own zone and is becoming a more lethal scoring threat every game. He started the year with the Wild before being returned for more seasoning with the Kelowna Rockets. The strong winger has put up 43 points in 40 games so far this season. He has also found the back of the net 22 times, a career high. Although Bulmer’s skillset doesn’t seem as though it will translate over perfectly to the NHL, he should get a very long look at being a mainstay on the Wild’s third line in 2012-13. Zenon Herasymiuk

Fantasy Outlook: C-

Bulmer projects to be a gritty, two-way defensive forward in the NHL that should only be considered in deeper fantasy leagues counting penalty minutes.
