June 2015 – Considered one of the draft’s biggest mysteries, Pilipenko possesses tantalizing talent that could see him drafted as high as the second round. He has a ton of upside because of this skill but did not turn in a very good year leading up to his draft, unexpectedly putting up the same numbers he did in 2013-14. At 5-foot-10, he is an undersized forward and has yet to develop much of a physical presence on the ice. To make matters worse, he doesn’t possess the kind of skating ability we often see from smaller forwards. Still, there is a lot to like in his game when he has the puck and could entice a team to take a flier on him in the second round. Matt Donohue
Ultimate boom or bust winger with the ability to develop into a top-six winger.
