Observations:

February 2015 – The Swedish defenseman started the 2014-15 season with the EV Zug in NLA, where he was heavily disappointing, producing only one goal and two assists in 18 games. Andersson was moved to HC Lugano in November, which is coached by his father. Since the trade, Calle has picked up his game with four goals and 14 points in 24 games. Calle has plenty of offensive upside. He has demonstrated great playmaking ability on the power play, showing great poise and patience with the puck. Jozsef Kurtosi

May 2014 – The Rangers have signed 2012 fourth round pick Swedish defensemen. Calle is the son of former Ranger Peter Andersson and spent the last season in Allsvenskan, playing for Malmö with his younger brother Rasmus, who is an excellent 2015 prospect. Calle is an all-around two-way defenseman, who contributes offensively and defensively. He skates well for a big guy and has high hockey IQ. He has some very good offensive skill, specifically an accurate one-timer that has a good release and he displays great passing skills. He will need to be more physical and continue to work on his intensity. He will attend the Rangers development camp in July, but will play the 2014-15 season for EV Zug in Switzerland. Jozsef Kurtosi

Fantasy Outlook: D-

Andersson is mobile, possesses good size and some intriguing offensive upside, but he is a longshot prospect.
