Observations:

June 2015- The Coyotes did not offer Kulda a contract by June 1st, making him no longer Arizona property. Keith Duggan

April 2015- It was a tough final junior season for Edgars Kulda. He missed a large chunk of the year with a lower body injury and never really got going offensively, 13 goals and 30 points in 47 games. Along with that, after winning the Memorial Cup last year, his team the Edmonton Oil Kings were knocked out of the first round of the playoff's this season. He remains unsigned and it's a big question on whether the Coyotes will ink the young Latavian to a contract. Keith Duggan

September 2014- It was thought that Kulda might stick at the pro level this season, most likely with the Portland Pirates of the AHL but he was reassigned back to the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL on September 23rd. That gives the Oil Kings one too many import players and they could potentially trade the 2014 Memorial Cup MVP. Wherever he ends up this season he will be a major part of the offense in his overage season. Keith Duggan

June 2014- In the seventh round of the 2014 NHL entry draft and one of the final picks,  the Arizona Coyotes got potentially a steal by drafting Edgars Kulda, 193rd overall. Keith Duggan

May 2014 – Edgars Kulda had an outstanding showing the 2014 CHL MasterCard Memorial Cup where his four goals and seven points in five games helped his Edmonton Oil Kings to a championship win. After the strongest and most consistence performances over the course of the tournament, Kulda was named Most Valuable Player of the Memorial Cup and earned a spot on the tournament All-Star team which are a few bonuses to add to the resume as he heads towards the 2014 NHL Draft. Brendan Ross

May 2014 – Latvian import Edgars Kulda is an intelligent two-way forward with somewhat underrated offensive skills. Passed over at the 2013 NHL Draft after a mediocre North American debut, Kulda showed outstanding development in his sophomore campaign peaking in the post-season as the young winger posted over a point-per-game in playoff action. He possesses great patience in possession and has a good eye on the ice, finding teammates streaking into the offensive zone at nearly perfect timely. Not overly big nor strong, Kulda showed a willingness to get his nose dirty and drive the net looking to cash in on loose pucks. Considering he shows good commitment in all three zones and an emerging skill set, Kulda is certainly preparing to be selected at the 2014 NHL Draft.  Brendan Ross

Fantasy Outlook: C+

Dedicated defensively and dangerous offensively, Kulda is a player who could find a spot as a top nine forward.
