Observations:
April 2013 – Nystrom had a decent showing in the Swedish Elite League this year with a pair of assists in 19 games in a depth role. He remains several years away from the NHL but his status as a later draft choice will allow him time to develop. He is not fantasy relevant at this time. Eric Daoust
July 2012 – Erik Nyström is a quick winger drafted out of the MODO organization. Nyström’s best assets are his speed, vision, puck control, and work ethic. In the 12/13 season, he split time between the Swedish J20 league and the Elite League. He put up 28 points in 32 games for MODO J20, and recorded 2 assists in his 19 game stint with the big club. Nyström will look to earn himself a longer stint in the Elite League this season along with a potential roster spot on Team Sweden at the 2013 World Junior Hockey Championship.
Fantasy Outlook: D-
A player to watch in the next few years due to his elite skating ability and possession game, but a long-term project.
