Observations:
September 2015 – Svedberg has decided to take his talents to Ufa, Russia. The 26-year-old signed a deal with the KHL's Salavat Yulaev. It is only a one-year deal, so Svedberg may be back in North America very soon – especially if he puts up a solid year. Don't write him off just yet. Michael Boeckler
October 2013 – Svedberg continues to post strong numbers in Providence. He has four wins in his first six games, with a 2.55 GAA and .927 save percentage, and has yet to lose in regulation time. Svedberg was beaten out by Chad Johnson for the backup job with the Bruins but it seems to be only a matter of time before Svedberg will get his chance in Boston. Michael Boeckler
October 2012 – Niklas Svedberg is another great Swedish goaltending prospect crossing the pond after his 20th birthday. He will begin this season in the AHL with Providence and should see plenty of action there as he develops his skills and gets used to the North American game. His current situation in the Boston organization is advantageous because the team already has its goaltender of the future in Tuukka Rask so there is no pressure for Svedberg to be the savior. Unfortunately, that may work against him in fantasy hockey as he will be given limited starts in a deep organization like Boston.
Fantasy Outlook: B-
Svedberg is a potential No.1 goaltender but he still has a mountain ahead of him by the name of Tuukka Rask. Opportunity is a concern but he could also settle in as an excellent backup.
