Observations:
May 2013 – Playing in his last year of his two year contract, Caporusso has been bounced between Binghamton of the AHL and Elmira of the ECHL. In his 23 games with the Binghamton Senators he managed only six points, which included just one goal. Playing for the Jackals in Elmira he dressed for 41 games getting 19 goals and 26 assists for 45 points. He has not been able to transfer his point per game production of the ECHL to the AHL. Caporusso is a free-agent who will need to study his options, as a 2007 draft pick of the Senators his opportunity to make it to the NHL is quickly fading. A possible european stint might help the diminutive forward, where the bigger ice can help him work on his all around game. Alain Dube
June, 2012 – Louie Caporusso is a talented undersized forward who is very quick and has good hands. Unfortunately, his statistics have trended in the wrong direction in the past three years. After posting 49 points in 41 games at the University of Michigan in 2008-09, his points slipped to 43 and 31 points in his final two seasons in college. After being signed to an entry level deal by the Senators, Caporusso saw some time with Binghamton of the AHL but failed to register a point in 13 games. He spent the rest of the season in the ECHL where he had 32 points in 29 games for Elmira. Next season will be important for him as it is the final season of his entry level contract. Due to his lack of size, he needs to establish himself in the AHL before he gets labeled as a career minor leaguer.
Fantasy Outlook: C+
Caporusso has good upside, but needs to establish himself in the AHL quickly.
