Observations:

January 2013 – Cervenka suffered from a blood clot while playing in the KHL which held him back from being ready when the NHL resumed. He is now back in the Flames lineup making his debut on Saturday. He played decent but needs to gain more familiarity with his teammates and North American ice. He did produce 15 points in 14 games in Europe before being derailed by the blood clot, so he has good upside. Jason Banks

May, 2011 – Cervenka won the Czech Extraliga scoring race first time in 2009 scoring 59 points in 51 games. Next season he scored amazing 73 points in 50 games adding another 24 points in 16 playoff games in the post season. He moved to play in the KHL for Avangard Omsk in 2010 and had most goals in the whole league scoring 31 goals and adding 30 assists in 51 games. In 2011/12 he had a bit quieter season after his linemate Jaromir Jagr moved to the NHL but he still won the playoffs scoring race scoring 21 points in 20 postseason games. Cervenka signed a one-year entry level contract with the Calgary Flames in 2012.

Fantasy Outlook: B+

Can make an immediate impact as a top six forward.
