Observations:
March 2015 – It’s been a long road for former Calder Trophy candidate Cory Conacher but he will now be headed to the Vancouver Canucks as part of a deadline deal that included Dustin Jeffrey going back to the New York Islanders. Conacher departs the Bridgeport Sound Tigers with five goals and 22 points in 25 AHL games plus another three points in 15 NHL games. Brendan Ross
March 2014 – Cory Conacher was waived by the Ottawa Senators ahead of the 2014 Trade deadline a year after they acquired him for former goaltender Ben Bishop. Tim Murray, former Senators assistant GM and current Sabres GM, decided to take a flier on Conacher in hopes he could help turn around his game. No harm, no foul if things don’t work out but the Sabres have a top six role available and hope that Conacher will take it and run with it. In his first game with his new team he registered an assist to even the score at one a piece but that would be all the Sabres could manage as they fell to the visiting Blackhawks 2-1. Look for Conacher to get every opportunity to be successful and put up eight to twelve points over the final 20 games. Travis Watson

March 2014 – When Cory Conacher was acquired from Tampa Bay last spring, he joined the Ottawa Senators as the team’s leading scorer. Since then, Conacher’s time in Ottawa have been very disappointing recording just 25 points over the 72 regular season games played. Ottawa placed Cory Conacher on waivers and the Buffalo Sabres have since scooped up this former 2013 Calder Trophy Candidate. Brendan Ross
April 2013 – He is quickly becoming a player who has a history of getting and making the most of opportunities. His next adventure brings him back to Ontario for the Senators. He will jump into another top six, scoring role with the Sens. Provided he does produce, this will likely be his home for a long while. Jason Banks
March 2013 – Conacher made the Lightning to begin the season, and continues to lead all rookies in scoring while holding down a top-six spot with the Lightning. Conacher has been inconsistent but as long as he’s playing with any of Tampa’s big three the points will come. Rich Dillon
April 2012 – Conacher is a very small, quick and shifty winger. Despite being undrafted and unsigned through his NCAA career and his first 11 months of his pro-career, Cory is very much on the radar of the NHL. In his first full pro season, Cory earned the AHL’s ‘Les Cunningham Award’ as the AHL MVP, this is an award voted on by Players, Coaches and Media from each of the AHL’s 30 cities. This shows how much of an influence and how much of an impact he made for the Norfolk Admirals, a team that went 28-0 to end the season. He also was the AHL’s ‘Rookie of the Year’. Yzerman may choose to keep Cory in the AHL to start next season, but his hand could be forced, as the Bolts only have nine regular forwards under contract for next season. After this season, Conacher leads a group of young talents including: J.T. Brown, Richard Panik, Tyler Johnson and Vlad Namestnikov that will be vying for a couple spots on the roster next season. Jason Banks
Conacher has joined the Buffalo Sabres hoping to gain a new breath of life in the NHL after going stagnant in Ottawa.
