Observations:
June 2014 – After being traded to the Florida Panthers, Jimmy Hayes improved in the second half of the season, finishing with 18 points in 55 games. Hayes turned into a good depth goal scorer and earned himself some time on the powerplay. Hayes was one of three Panthers chosen to represent Team USA at the 2014 World Championships, notching one point through the tournament. Hayes is a big power forward and if he continues to progress, he will make his way up a Florida lineup that lacks depth. Jake Patterson
February 2014 – Hayes has stuck at the NHL level ever since the trade to the Panthers but has been playing an extremely limited role. In 31 games this season he has four goals and one assist and is seeing just over nine minutes of ice-time per game. He has even been a healthy scratch at times this year. At 24 there is still time for things to change but the outlook is not good right now. There much better options out there. Nathan Kanter

November 2013 – Jimmy Hayes, along with defenseman Dylan Olsen, was traded to the Florida Pathers for forward Kris Versteeg. Brendan Ross
June 2013 – Hayes logged more time this season in Rockford and less in Chicago than he did in 2011-12, but it didn’t slow him down. In 67 games with the Icehogs, Hayes posted 45 points and for all intents and purposes backed up his points-per-game pace of the previous AHL season. He still played 10 games with the Hawks, mostly in the latter half of March and added four points in those games. He’s one to watch in multi-category dynasty leagues but he would benefit from some more seasoning in the AHL. Just as importantly, he needs an opening on a crowded Blackhawks roster. Rex Doty
March 2012 – Hayes is the prototypical power forward for the NHL with the big size and long, lanky strides. He possesses some good mitts around the front of the net and is learning to use his frame to his advantage even more at the pro level. Hayes played three successful years in the NCAA at the top-notch college program of BC (Hockey East) and now enjoying some call-up time in Chicago from Rockford (AHL) in his first pro season. Russ Bitely
Fantasy Outlook: C+
Hayes still has the potential to be a power forward in a top-nine forward role, but his window of opportunity is quickly running out.
