Observations:

February 2013 – After a disappointing start to the season in Peoria during the lockout where he only produced 19 points in 33 games and was a minus-14, Schwartz has not yet provided the ‘pop’ expected in the NHL lineup with only a single point in seven games for the Blues. He has started to see a drop in ice-time and was a healthy scratch for a game. If he does not start producing soon he will be sent back to Peoria, but that does not affect his status as a ‘blue chip’ prospect to own, if anything he becomes a ‘buy low’ candidate. Jason Banks

May 2012 – Recently finished the year in the NHL with three points in seven games, but did not appear in the playoffs. Signed a three year entry level in March, but because of appearing in the NHL already, he burns a year. The Blues are rather full at forward, so Schwartz likely starts in Peoria next season, but it won’t be a long stay if he builds up over the summer.  Jason Banks

February, 2012 – Schwartz is a fantastic stickhandler who plays a strong two-way game, combined with excellent hockey sense. He totaled 47 points in just 30 games last year as a freshman at Colorado College and has continued that production as a sophomore. Rich Dillon

Fantasy Outlook: A-

Schwartz is the total package, and only needs to add strength to be an NHL player. He could use another year before making his debut.
